    Emergency Preparedness Drill Posted 10/15/18

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priorities. To provide schools an opportunity to practice emergency response procedures, the Superintendent of Schools has asked all students and staff to participate in a District-wide emergency preparedness drill on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 10:35 am. Please be advised that students will be dismissed at the regular time on this day.

The goals of the training drill are to improve our ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries. As part of the drill, the students and staff will participate in the activation of our school’s Safe School Plan.  Additional information can be found on the LAUSD website here.

No one will be admitted to or picked up from the campus between 10:30 - 11:45. When the drill is complete at 11:45, the front door will be reopened.

Prior to the drill, please discuss with your child your family’s home preparedness plan. Several resources are available to help you prepare. The American Red Cross has outstanding materials. You can obtain Red Cross materials in English or in Spanish from their web site or by calling the Los Angeles Chapter at (213) 739-5200.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to call our school office at (310) 474-7788

Please help welcome out newly assigned crossing guards at Selby/Mississippi and Selby/Overland to the Westwood Community.  The City of Los Angeles is experiencing a shortage of crossing guards and will assign a new guard to Overland/Olympic as soon as possible.

We are continuing to problem solve the condition of the pedestrian tunnel under Olympic.  The discussion held at the WNC meeting was productive and we hope to have a collaborative solution in the near future.
