Performing Arts

Our overall objective is for the student to feel joyful and creatively fulfilled when performing, and our hope is that all students grow in confidence, make new friends and learn new skills.

 

Upstage Theatre Arts Schools is a provider of year-round, after-school and summer day-camp performing arts education for young children and teenagers in the Westwood and South Pasadena areas of Greater Los Angeles. 

Our program includes acting, singing, and dance classes, and is founded on the principle that theater should be fair and fun. Our productions feature ensemble casting, reasonable rehearsal hours, and a safe environment for a young performer to find their own level in their own time.

So many of our students return year after year, we figure we must be doing something right!

 

We are proud to work at Westwood Charter. Our same team has been working at Westwood for more than 10 years. We offer two programs to over 150 kids joining us each year from Kindergarten all the way up to 5th grade. 

 

Our K- 2 program runs from the end of September through February (Mondays or Thursdays, once a week for 18 weeks) 

Our 3 - 5 program runs from September to mid-May.  (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays for approximately 30 weeks) 

 

Middle school aged alumni of Westwood Charter can join us for our Middle School Year Round Program where we delve deeper into the technique of acting and a full production at the end of each school year. We meet on Friday evenings starting in September in West LA for approximately 30 weeks (this is open to any 6th-9th grader, not just WWC alums).
